Kamppi Chapel of Silence

Un pequeño espacio capaz de atrapar el silencio en pleno centro de Helsinki. Un volumen de madera, cálido, bañado en su interior por la luz natural. Es obra de los arquitectos finlandeses K2S. 

Las tres primeras fotos son mías, me encontré con la capilla por sorpresa en mi viaje a Finlandia este verano, cobra presencia a pesar de encontrarse en una esquina a dos niveles.

A small space capable to catch the silence in the centre of Helsinki. A wood volume, warm, touched by the natural light. This is work of the Finnish architects K2S. First three photos are mine, I discovered  this chapel on my vacations in Finland, it has its own presence despite its corner and two levels situation.

KEEP CALM

"KEEP CALM and CARRY ON" fue un póster producido por el gobierno británico en 1939 al comienzo de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, una manera de animar a la población, la primera imagen corresponde al original. 

Ahora han salido multitud de variantes, aquí os dejo con los que he elegido, mis "métodos Keep Calm".

"KEEP CALM and CARRY ON" was a poster produced in 1939 by the United Kingdom Government at the beginning  of the Second World War, a way of cheering up the population, the first image corresponds to the original.

Today we can find an enormous variety of them, I´ve chosen my "Keep Calm methods".

franc swiss notes

Los billetes de diez y cien francos suizos están protagonizados nada menos que por los nativos Le Corbusier, arquitecto, y Alberto Giacometti, pintor y escultor. En el reverso su retrato, en el anverso parte de su obra maestra. 

Yo tengo el de diez en frente de mi escritorio, así trabajo bajo el control de Corbu, a ver sí me contagia algo.

Ten and one hundred franc swiss notes are stared by the natives Le Corbusier, architect, and Alberto Giacometti, painter and sculpter. Their portrait on the reverse, one of their work on the obverse. 

I´ve got the ten one in front of my desk, I work under Corbu´s control, hope to be infected by him.

Koziol Design

Esta marca de diseño alemana, Koziol, la descubrí gracias al exprimidor inspirado en un barco de papel que me regalaron. Diseño de productos cotidianos con un toque divertido. 

Koziol is a design brand, made in Germany. I discovered it thanks to an orange squeezer inspired by a paper boat I was given. Daily home products designed with funny touch.

Steven Wiltshire

Stephen Wiltshire nació en Londres en 1974. De pequeño apenas hablaba, con tres años le diagnosticaron autismo, vivía en su propio mundo. Dibujar era su único pasatiempos, su lenguaje. 

Stephen dibuja, pinta paisajes de ciudades, hasta el último detalle, a veces tras haberlas observado durante minutos. Un artista innato.

"Do the best you can, and never stop."

Stephen Wiltshire was born in London in 1974. As a child he was mute, at the age of three he was diagnosed as autistic, he lived entirely in his own world. Drawing was his only pastime, his language. 

Stephen draws and paints detailed cityscapes, sometimes after having only observed them briefly. Natural innate artistry.
